    1UP Ciganda/Boutier v Kupcho/Duncan (16)

For Europe, Celine Boutier is perfectly in the fairway while Carlota Ciganda's ball takes a handy kick from the first cut and rolls back into the short stuff.

Advantage blue on this hole - just about.

    1UP Ciganda/Boutier v Kupcho/Duncan (16)

Onus is on Team USA to attack down the final two holes and that's exactly what Lindy Duncan does as she stripes her tee shot down the middle of the 17th fairway.

It's sketchier from Jennifer Kupcho though as she drives it into the rough on the left side. Perhaps a bit too keen there.

  3. Star pair will be the talking pointpublished at 17:38 BST 12 September

Win or lose, but especially lose, Anna Nordqvist is going to be quizzed on the decision to keep playing Charley Hull and Lottie Woad together for all four team sessions.

The English pair are both in the top 10 in the world so you can see the thinking, but putting your best players together has never really worked in team golf, if you look back at Solheim Cup and Ryder Cup history.

And from Friday morning you could tell that neither of them were playing their best, so for Nordqvist to play keep playing them, and keep playing them together, will be a huge talking point when the event is all said and done.

Imagine if Europe suffer a narrow defeat, then Nordqvist playing the pair in four matches and returning just half a point will certainly be the focus.

  4. Hole tied for Ciganda and Boutierpublished at 17:37 BST 12 September

    1UP Ciganda/Boutier v Kupcho/Duncan (16)

The speed is about right but Carlota Ciganda's ball is not on the right line and skids past the hole.

It'll be about two-and-a-half feet coming back to tie the hole for the Spaniard.

And in. Europe stay one up with two to play.

    1UP Ciganda/Boutier v Kupcho/Duncan (15)

Lindy Duncan goes first from about 40 feet.

Sublime pace but it just turns too late and comes to rest about a foot behind the hole.

    Carlota Ciganda's turn...

In case you missed it - or just fancied a reminder - this was Carlota Ciganda holing out on 18 yesterday.

Does she have something similar in store on these closing holes today?

Just this match left on the course now and it feels like Carlota Ciganda is once again carrying European hopes on her shoulders.

A blue point here would be very handy before the singles.

Over at the 16th green, she'll be trading lengthy eagle putts with Lindy Duncan shortly, with partner Celine Boutier in close for a birdie chance.

  9. USA take the pointpublished at 17:32 BST 12 September

    Hull/Woad v Noh/Lee 1UP (F)

    Leaderboard

Coming up short is exactly what Charley Hull and Lottie Woad have done all tournament so far - and mainly on the putting green where absolutely nothing has dropped despite them giving themselves more chances than they have done in previous matches.

The USA team did make eight birdies and an eagle, most of them from the excellent Yealimi Noh who rolled in a ton of crucial putts. She'll be one to watch in the singles tomorrow.

  10. Woad comes up shortpublished at 17:29 BST 12 September

    Hull/Woad v Noh/Lee 1UP (17)

It doesn't get there! Lottie Woad's attempt doesn't quite have the pace - those make me angry as I can never believe when they leave must-make putts like that short, but what do I know?

So we'll see Yealimi Noh have a putt but this one's going to the USA.

  11. On the greenpublished at 17:25 BST 12 September

    Hull/Woad v Noh/Lee 1UP (17)

Lottie Woad hits the green, pin high, but about 15 feet away. Yealimi Noh follows her in and actually knocks it in closer.

Woad needs to make hers and hope Noh misses to get something out of this one.

  12. Hull in the drinkpublished at 17:22 BST 12 September

    Hull/Woad v Noh/Lee 1UP (17)

Charley Hull takes a three wood off the 18th tee as she's wary of hitting the water with a driver.

And then she hits it in the water. Over to you Lottie Woad...

  13. Zhang wins match for USpublished at 17:20 BST 12 September

    Zhang/Kim beat Nadaud/Maguire 3&2

    Overall score

It's a trickler but it goes into the centre of the cup from Rose Zhang and the Americans close out.

Her and Auston Kim were played two, lost two before this session but have secured a red point for captain Angela Stanford against Leona Maguire and Nastasia Nadaud.

Rose Zhang duly knocks her 60-foot putt to similar distance away as Leona Maguire's.

I imagine both will be putting to make sure. Stand by.

  15. Postpublished at 17:16 BST 12 September

    Nadaud/Maguire v Zhang/Kim 3UP (15)

That's a lovely effort by Leona Maguire from off the green to get her ball in close to the 16th pin.

Over to Rose Zhang to match or better her - and that would secure a point for Team USA.

  16. Hole thrown awaypublished at 17:15 BST 12 September

    1UP Ciganda/Boutier v Kupcho/Duncan (15)

You don't want to be too harsh as the players are under so much pressure, but Europe had this match in the palm of their hands but they've opening the door by putting those two balls into the water.

America have no problem making an easy par to cut the gap to one with three to play.

  17. Postpublished at 17:13 BST 12 September

    Nadaud/Maguire v Zhang/Kim 3UP (15)

After finding the water at the 15th, Auston Kim is back in the creek at 16, which helps Leona Maguire and Nastasia Nadaud out again.

Maguire hits her second shot safely onto the bank to the right of the flag and is followed there by Rose Zhang.

Problems for Nadaud off the tee mean it's likely a two-way shootout here to keep the match going.

    Hull/Woad v Noh/An Lee 1UP (17)

    Iain Carter

    To keep the match alive...

YESS!! In it goes for Lottie Woad. A birdie which extends the match. What nerve.

  19. Woad takes it to 18!published at 17:12 BST 12 September

    Hull/Woad v Noh/Lee 1UP (17)

The hole seems to have a force field around it when Charley Hull putts as again her birdie chance just moves away off target at the last moment.

So it's over to Lottie Woad to extend the match, and Hull even gets involved in picking the line. She then steps away and leaves the stage free for Woad.

Who drains it! We're going down 18 with Europe needing to win it for a half point.

  20. Woeful in the waterpublished at 17:09 BST 12 September

    2UP Ciganda/Boutier v Kupcho/Duncan (14)

That is truly awful play from the Europeans. Celine Boutier has hit it into the water here almost every time, and going first after just going two up surely the play is just find the middle of the green.

But no, she shoots at the flag and it bounces left and drops into the water.

And if that's not bad enough Carlota Ciganda follows her in playing the exact same shot. Matchplay golf needs clear thinking down the stretch and I'm afraid neither European covered themselves in glory there. Criminal.
