A couple of darts lobbed on to the first green from this second match too at Bernardus Golf Club.

Germany's Esther Henseleit is first to hit and she's fired in to around a dozen feet. Jennifer Kupcho follows her to pin-high about 20 feet away. Who has the hottest putter this morning?

It really is quite a benign opening hole - a generous fairway and at only 380 or so yards it's no more than a drive and short wedge to the green.

Home teams have an advantage in the Solheim Cup, while the USA still lead the way after 19 events, but the teams are pretty evenly matched these days.

  3. Stanford on switching today's orderpublished at 07:02 BST 12 September

"We were pretty happy with the tie too," insists US captain Angela Stanford when asked about Carlota Ciganda's last putt of day one that sparked scenes of great European celebration.

She also says that they knew Europe would "throw the kitchen sink at us" and that she's "proud" of how her players stood up to that.

On to today, she says, she "felt really good about yesterday morning's pairings, so we just shifted the order around a little bit".

  4. Europe keeping pairings fluidpublished at 06:59 BST 12 September

Europe skipper Anna Nordqvist says "we have some plans in place but we're keeping ourselves pretty open-minded for the afternoon" in her first snatched interview of day two when asked if all 12 of her players will make an appearance again today.

  5. Perfect start for Europepublished at 06:57 BST 12 September

    1UP Stark/Grant v Corpuz/Korda (1)

Linn Grant has one of the smoothest swings you'll see, and that swing produced a dart of an iron shot leaving Maja Stark with a simple birdie putt that's good enough to win the opening hole for the Europeans.

The home side made a lot of fast starts yesterday though but the Americans came on strong later on, so that's one to look out for.

But still, that's the perfect start for the Swedes.

    Maguire/Henseleit v Kupcho/Zhang (06:52)

An American caddie takes a proper fist full of complimentary tees - the sort of grab that you or I might make if we were at a course offering up freebies.

Esther Henseleit, meanwhile, plucks just one from the tray by the starter.

All four players have their big coats on. A bit chilly out there this morning.

A big move by Anna Nordqvist to put her two winning foursomes pairings from Friday out first this morning. Will they deliver again?

Rose Zhang is in a popular spot, in a little dell on the fairway, short of the bunker. Leona Maguire a little straighter. Away we go.

Leona Maguire and Esther Henseleit looked pretty impressive in their foursomes victory yesterday morning.

Ireland's Maguire improved her career Solheim Cup record to nine wins, three defeats and one halved match, to give her the highest winning percentage at 73.1% of any European player that has played five matches.

Both were rested in the afternoon so should be fresh to fire again.

Jennifer Kupcho and Rose Zhang were well beaten in this format by Europe's Swedish superstars Linn Grant and Maja Stark in their only outing on Friday so have a point to prove today.

  9. Watch Ciganda's epic finishpublished at 06:48 BST 12 September

Carlota Ciganda was never in the crucial 18th hole of the final match on Friday evening, but she managed to play a magic chip and sink a wonderful pressure putt to pinch what could be a crucial half.

  10. Off we go!published at 06:48 BST 12 September

The first match of the day heads off down the first after another rowdy welcome to the first tee.

There's plenty of early morning mist around Bernardus Golf Club and the players are well wrapped up again with a chill in the air, but it was a hot reception for both teams from the crowd.

Allisen Corpuz is the perfect partner for world number one Nelly Korda, they're certainly the perfect Solheim Cup partnership after yesterday becoming the first pairing to go 5-0 when they took down Lottie Woad and Charley Hull.

Linn Grant and Maja Stark played brilliantly to also win in foursomes yesterday morning and Anna Nordqvist has rewarded her compatriots by sending them out first today.

Korda was stunned by Carlota Ciganda late on last night so we'll see if that's knocked any wind out of her sails, but you'd still have the American pair as favourites given their record.

    Graphic showing Saturday foursomes matches: Stark/Grant v Corpuz/Korda; Maguire/Henseleit v Kupcho/Zhang; Rhodes/Naduad v Kim/Lee; Hull/Woad v Lee/Coughlin

Anna Nordqvist surprisingly keeps faith with the Charley Hull-Lottie Woad team, but they are moved to the bottom match which suggests they won't be playing this afternoon.

The almost unstoppable Swedes Maja Stark and Linn Grant lead Europe off this morning against the very much unstoppable Allisen Corpuz and Nelly Korda - who are the first partnership to ever go 5-0 in the Solheim Cup.

Leona Maguire and Esther Henseleit go out again after surprisingly not playing the fourballs following a fine foursomes win - can they possible stop the Megan Khang winning run though?

And the rookies Mimi Rhodes and Nastasia Nadaud get another run out this morning. How do you see this session working out?

    We go again!

What a day we had yesterday at Bernardus Golf Club from start to finish - the amazing atmosphere early on in the Dutch morning to that epic finish in the very last match of the day.

We had Charley Hull and Lottie Woad struggling for form but Europe's all rookie duo Mimi Rhodes and Nastasia Nadaud enjoyed a brilliant debut victory.

Megan Khang proved to be unbeatable again as she stretched her long winning run but the day came to a pulsating finish as Carlota Ciganda secured a half from absolutely nowhere to stun Nelly Korda and Lauren Coughlin.

And after all that we ended day one right where we started it with the Solheim Cup all tied up at 4-4. And if yesterday is anything to go by then you just have to stick around and see what Saturday brings!
