  1. 'It has been electric out here'published at 10:34 BST 12 September

    Hull/Woad lose to Al Lee/Coughlin 6&5

Team USA's Lauren Coughlin and Alison Lee, speaking after their foursomes victory...

Coughlin: "Any time you get a point, it is a good day. Just looking forward to the rest of the week.

"This is the best week we play every two years, so it has been electric out here. It is super loud. Wouldn't mind them quietening down a little bit, but it has been awesome."

Lee: "To be fair including yesterday I feel we hit it both so solid. Today, specifically, all I had to do was sit back and watch the Lauren show. So it was just a lot of fun."

    Leaderboard

On to the 16th in what is turning into this morning's pivotal match.

Esther Henseleit outdrives Lauren Coughlin down the 16th fairway. Who is taking on the stream protecting the front edge of this green?

Rose Zhang, after a chat with Coughlin, selects a lofted club from the first cut of rough. It's a lay up.

Leona Maguire is one of the shortest hitters on tour, so perhaps the US team gambling on the Irishwoman following suit?

Glove is on. Fairway wood pulled out of the bag. Big shot. Huge shot. The flag is perched about 10 yards beyond the water. 198 yards to the hole. Big swish. Bailed out way right. Let's see where that ended up.

Hull and Woad should be rested for this afternoons four balls. They have been well beaten in 2 of their 3 matches. Maguire and Henseleit should play instead.

    Paul from Bristol

A woeful display by Europe's two star players again. Something is not working with that partnership. Surely leave them out this afternoon and let them concentrate on singles tomorrow.

    Diane from Leicester

I understood the logic of putting Woad and Hull back out yesterday afternoon together. But not today. It clearly wasn’t working. Hindsight’s 20:20 but it seemed bizarre to continue with the same approach again today and you have to say it’s a big error from the captain.

  4. Lead stays at threepublished at 10:33 BST 12 September

    3UP Rhodes/Nadaud v Kim/Lee (14)

Europe miss a great chance to go four up with four to play but the putt just misses the target and America stay in the fight.

The tricky 15th over water is next up and anything can happen there - just ask Leona Maguire and Esther Henseleit!

  5. As it stands...published at 10:29 BST 12 September

Well, it was nice until it lasted for Team Europe, BUT we're back tied on the overall score.

  6. Henseleit getting feet wetpublished at 10:25 BST 12 September

    Maguire/Henseleit v Kupcho/Zhang 1UP (15)

On the 15th and Leona Maguire is errant with her tee shot, the ball finding a watery grave.

But Esther Henseleit is not giving this up. A third of the ball is showing. The shoes and socks are off. The waterproof leggings are going on - white shorts and playing out of muddy water do not mix.

A swish, a splash and the ball pops up. But it hits the bank she's half standing on with her left leg - her right foot is submerged - and bounces back into the water.

Hole conceded. Two holes in a row for the US, who lead this topsy-turvy match.

  7. Big win for USpublished at 10:21 BST 12 September

    Hull/Woad lose to Al Lee/Coughlin 6&5

We're on the 13th green and this match is hurtling towards its end.

Charley Hull has a six-footer to keep it alive. And just like so many holes today, it's a missed putt and that is game over.

Feels like the Europeans have been put out of their misery. Hull and Lottie Woad didn't have the best of days but the American pair of Alison Lee and Lauren Coughlin were on their games.

  8. 'Hard to beat when you're not making any bogeys'published at 10:18 BST 12 September

    3&2 Stark/Grant v Corpuz/Korda (F)

Team Europe's Maja Stark and Linn Grant, speaking after their foursomes victory...

Stark: "I mean it is the best feeling ever. Felt like we put up some decent golf both today and yesterday. Kind of hard to beat when you're not making any bogeys.

"I think we're just going to keep going and feeling like we're playing great golf. Keeping feeling we're hitting good shots and hitting good putts."

Grant: "Obviously, we had a tough match going into today and we knew that. We had a lot of fun. It is a lot of fun. We both had the same idea about this week. Take it in and get the whole experience."

    Maguire/Henseleit v Kupcho/Zhang A/S (14)

    Leaderboard

After the fight to get back in this match, the Europeans are struggling a bit on hole 14.

Esther Henseleit drove the ball into a bunker, Leona Maguire hacked out but into the clumpy heather.

Henseleit smashes their third through the back of the green.

The Americans are not in the best of shapes either though.

Rose Zhang with a lengthy par putt. Misses. Henseleit from five feet for the half... started left, stayed left. Back level

  11. First blood Europe!published at 10:10 BST 12 September

    3&2 Stark/Grant v Corpuz/Korda (F)

Maja Stark in the Solheim CupImage source, Getty Images

There it is! Maja Stark rolls in yet another fine putt to close out this match in style - and what a win it is as the Swedish duo hand a first ever loss to Nelly Korda and Allisen Corpuz.

The previously unbeatable American foursomes duo finally taste defeat after five straight wins, and in truth they were largely dominated by Stark and Linn Grant who played some stunning golf yet again.

They'll surely be heading out this afternoon as well.

  12. Another missed opportunitypublished at 10:05 BST 12 September

    Hull/Woad v Al Lee/Coughlin 6UP (12)

And the European body language says it all as they trudge of the 12th green.

Charley Hull and Lottie Woad looked in great shape for a win but Alison Lee rolled in a 15-footer for par and Woad missed the birdie try from six feet. Hole halved. It's the hope that kills you.

  13. Water!published at 10:02 BST 12 September

    2UP Stark/Grant v Corpuz/Korda (15)

Nelly Korda has launched a rocket down the 16th fairway and left Allisen Corpuz just 178 yards in to the par five. But with a front flag Corpuz gets a bit too cute with it and comes up short and into the creek!

Luckily for the USA, Europe had to lay-up after a poor tee shot so it's not quite terminal for their chances on this hole yet.

  14. Postpublished at 10:02 BST 12 September

    Hull/Woad v Al Lee/Coughlin 6UP (11)

Lauren Coughlin out of the sand and she doesn't hit that particularly well, the ball squirting out left of the target and it will still be the American's turn.

If Alison Lee doesn't hole the putt, then Europe will have two to win the hole.

  15. Postpublished at 09:58 BST 12 September

    Hull/Woad v Al Lee/Coughlin 6UP (11)

A glimmer of hope for the Europeans on the 12th? Charley Hull's second, with wedge in hand, is in close. And for the first time in what seems like forever, a good deal closer than the American ball, which is in a greenside bunker.

You can only win one hole at a time and a comeback has to start somewhere. Right?

  16. Rookie go three uppublished at 09:56 BST 12 September

    3UP Rhodes/Nadaud v Kim/Lee (12)

Big miss by the USA after two nice approaches, and that leaves the door wide open for this European rookie duo to storm right through and take a three-hole lead.

Brilliant play so far from this pair.

  17. Europe turn around match twopublished at 09:56 BST 12 September

    1UP Maguire/Henseleit v Kupcho/Zhang (13)

Esther Henseleit might have had her struggles on the green today but she fires in a laser iron to the 13th green, the ball running up the green and settling 10 feet from the hole.

The American ball is on a similar line but trundles off the back edge and into the first cut.

Rose Zhang's putt bends off to the left at the last.

Chance for Leona Maguire to turn this match around... and you just knew that was going in. The ball toppling in via gravity. A double fist pump and yell from Maguire. She loves this competition.

  18. Crucial halfpublished at 09:54 BST 12 September

    2UP Stark/Grant v Corpuz/Korda (15)

From the look on Maja Stark's face after her tee shot on 15 you'd think she had fired it into the water - when really it was just short of the green.

That's no problem for Linn Grant who hits a nice little shot close up to the flag and Stark return after a Nelly Korda miss to grab the half.

There's a fist pump from Stark striding off the green as they're inching closer to a famous win at two up with three to play. They'll have to fight to get this over the line though.

  19. US further extend lead in bottom matchpublished at 09:52 BST 12 September

    Hull/Woad v Al Lee/Coughlin 6UP (11)

Charley Hull hits the 11th green but Lottie Woad's putt from around 20 feet stays on the putting surface.

And that gives Lauren Coughlin a chance to pick up another hole. And when it's your day, it's your day - the American rolls her ball through the front door and that, my friends, is almost that.

The last match out could well be the first to finish.

  20. Hull and Woad's miserable week so farpublished at 09:47 BST 12 September

    Hull/Woad v Al Lee/Coughlin 5UP (10)

Charley Hull of Team Europe looks onImage source, Getty Images

I think it's fair to say the Charley Hull/Lottie Woad experiment has not worked for Europe skipper Anna Nordqvist.

We came into this week with reports that the two were keen to play with each other and as the top two ranked players on the team it seemed like it could be a formidable pairing.

But one scrambled half point on Friday looks set to be their only takings from the opening three sessions.

Do you want to see them out together in the afternoon fourballs? Thumbs up for yes, down for no.
