Lottie Woad goes close with another long-range putt but not close enough - but Charley Hull makes no mistake with her birdie effort to win the hole for Europe.

That's two big putts Hull's made now today, it's not been perfect by any means but there's at least some signs of life bubbling under the surface.

We keep waiting for it to all click, and another putt or two like that and maybe Hull will finally catch fire.

Lottie Woad secures the position on the green, and that meant Charley Hull could be more aggressive with her line.

    Stark/Grant v Khang/Coughlin 1UP (7)

Linn Grant has a putt from the back right of the seventh green to win the hole after watching Megan Khang chip in close and Lauren Coughlin's ball run right over the top of the cup.

The Swede hits it well but it tracks a little left and never really threatens to drop.

With Lottie Woad in the water it's down to Charley Hull but again with one of those makeable putts around seven or eight feet she rattles it too hard and it lips out.

Hull has clearly been struggling on the greens, with the pace a particular issue.

    Stark/Grant v Khang/Coughlin 1UP (6)

Whoops. Megan Khang runs her ball through the seventh green and now Lauren Coughlin doesn't get the contact she'd like leaving a longish putt for a three.

Neither Maja Stark or Linn Grant are able to capitalise mind.

Stark, who hit a mammoth drive, doesn't get hold of her wedge at all.

    Amy Boulden

Carlota Ciganda is someone you want over those putts. She is so clutch, and she is so good when it comes to the Solheim Cup.

  7. All squarepublished at 13:44 BST 12 September

    Ciganda/Boutier v Kupcho/Duncan A/S (3)

Carlota Ciganda just loves these big moments - the Americans would say she's 'clutch' in terms of making the big putts when she needs them.

This time it's to claim the third hole and level up this bottom match, which the way things are going could be huge again, just as it was last night.

    Hull/Woad v Noh/Lee A/S (4)

Lottie Woad finds the water on the fifth. Good news is that it's a par five and she finds the green with her fourth but the bad news is that she's still scratching around to find any kind of form.

  9. Kim chips inpublished at 13:39 BST 12 September

    Maguire/Nadaud v Zhang/Kim 2UP (3)

Like many of the American players, Auston Kim has hit the ground running this afternoon and now she chips in from the front of the fourth green to win a second consecutive hole.

    Ciganda/Boutier v Kupcho/Duncan 1UP (2)

Carlota Ciganda has been quiet but she's just played a lovely crisp iron shot into the third to give herself a great chance of squaring up this bottom match.

    Stark/Grant v Khang/Coughlin 1UP (6)

Oh how close is that. Linn Grant's putt shaves the left edge of the cup and slips past.

With Lauren Coughlin running her putt in close, the United States walk off with their lead intact.

  12. 'No egos'published at 13:35 BST 12 September

    Amy Boulden
Former LET Tour player on BBC Radio 5 Sports Extra 3 at Bernardus Golf Club

When Europe comes together as a team, they turn up, and they are their for each other. And there are no egos.

  13. Postpublished at 13:34 BST 12 September

    Stark/Grant v Khang/Coughlin 1UP (5)

Megan Khang finds the back left bunker with her approach off the sixth tee and now Lauren Coughlin's effort strays left.

Is this opening the door for Europe? Maja Stark certainly thinks so and goes right at the flag landing perfectly on the lower section of the putting surface no more than 15 feet away.

Linn Grant's effort is event better and makes use of the downslope to pull her ball in towards the pin.

Anna Nordqvist has her pairings all wrong for the afternoon fourballs. Early days, but should have left Hull and Woad out.

It is great to see all the different rookies and the experienced players coming together.

Everyone loves being on the team. It is a lot more fun having a crowd behind you.

They really carried us home. Great to have someone cheering for you.

It was pretty tough two years ago. The home crowd makes the difference and it is more fun competing.

  16. US edge aheadpublished at 13:31 BST 12 September

    Maguire/Nadaud v Zhang/Kim 1UP (2)

Auston Kim is putting from just off the third green from the fringe. Can the American knock this one in to take charge of this match. You bet she can.

That looked like it was short of legs but it topples into the cup and Leona Maguire and Nastasia Nadaud are playing catch up.

  17. Missed chancepublished at 13:30 BST 12 September

    Ciganda/Boutier v Kupcho/Duncan 1UP (2)

Lindy Duncan looks a bit bemused after missing a putt for the hole, and she doesn't look overly pleased with a few cheers from the European crowds for that miss.

You can tell we're getting right into the heart of this competition now.

    Exactly what that duo needed.

We can't have said that too many times this week as Charley Hull just hasn't made anything on the greens so far - until now!

She rattles one in to win the fourth hole and level the match. Could we start to see the real Charley Hull standing up?

  20. 'Maguire is such a great competitor'published at 13:25 BST 12 September

    Maguire/Nadaud v Zhang/Kim A/S (2)

On playing with Leona Maguire this morning in their foursomes victory...

Whenever I gave her a chance to make a birdie, she made it. She is just such a great competitor and I really enjoyed playing with her the last two days.

She loves match-play, she loves playing for Europe. That kind of person you don't want to play against. You know she is not going to give you anything.
